Disney+ has announced that Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation Season 1 will premiere on October 29, 2025. Adapted from the popular mobile game, the eight-episode first arc, titled Episode of Heartslabyul, brings Night Raven College’s magical dark fantasy to streaming worldwide.
Night Raven College and the Seven Disney Villains
According to the source coverage, the game has been downloaded over 4.8 million times and spawned manga and novel adaptations alongside consumer products. The story is set at Night Raven College, an elite academy for budding mages featuring seven magical dormitories inspired by iconic Disney villains: the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades, and Maleficent. These figures, known as the Great Seven, shape the school’s culture and its magical curriculum.
Manga artist Yana Toboso, best known for creating Black Butler, handled the original story concept and character designs. The first iteration of the mobile game was developed by f4samurai. Fans looking for additional story content can also read the manga adaptation first released in 2021 by Square Enix and translated into English by Viz Media.
The Journey of Yuken Enma in the Episode of Heartslabyul
The narrative centers on high school student Yuken Enma, also referred to as Yu, who is suddenly transported to the alternate world of Twisted-Wonderland. Unable to wield magic and stunned by his new reality, Yuken finds himself enrolled in Night Raven College while constantly searching for a portal back home. Reporting on the series notes that he must navigate monsters, whimsical magicians-in-training, and mysterious incidents without any magic of his own.
Upon arrival, Yuken immediately begins alienating residents and faces a mixed reaction from students who challenge his presence. He quickly falls in with two troublemaking classmates, Ace and Deuce, stumbling into one adventure after another while trying to avoid the wrath of the rule-bound dorm’s leader, Riddle Rosehearts. Season 1 comprises eight episodes dedicated entirely to the Heartslabyul dorm, which draws direct inspiration from Alice in Wonderland.
Returning Voice Cast, Music, and Multi-Season Plans
The production features the return of the original Japanese voice cast from the mobile game. Natsuki Hanae stars as Riddle Rosehearts, joined by Seiichiro Yamashita as Ace Trappola, Chiaki Kobayashi as Deuce Spade, Ryouta Suzuki as Trey Clover, Tatsuyuki Kobayashi as Cater Diamond, Mitsuru Miyamoto as Dire Crowley, and Noriaki Sugiyama as Grim.

“I’m so excited that we’sre getting a Twisted-Wonderland animation. I’ve been involved with the game for a long time and I can’t wait to see how the fascinating world and characters are portrayed in the anime. Definitely check it out when it starts streaming!”

Music composer Takumi Ozawa, who handled the score since the game’s launch, returns to provide the music for the series. The opening theme song is Piece of my world
performed by Night Ravens, while the ending theme is titled Obedience
and performed by the Heartslabyul dorm voice cast.
Production Team and Confirmed Follow-Up Seasons
Disney has planned a three-season arc for the animated adaptation to ensure a structured run. Following the debut of Season 1, Disney has already announced two subsequent arcs: Season 2, Episode of Savanaclaw, and Season 3, Episode of Octavinelle.

The anime is produced by Aniplex, streaming exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States and across Disney+ internationally. While Season 1 streams its eight episodes, Season 2 is currently deep in production, bringing Leona Kingscholar and the Savanaclaw dorm into animated form next.
