An arrest has been made in connection with an attempted burglary at the home of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County. Authorities say 24-year-old Jabir Parker of Philadelphia faces felony charges linked to a string of suburban burglaries that yielded nearly $800,000 in jewelry.
Law enforcement officials announced the breakthrough in an ongoing investigation spanning multiple Philadelphia suburbs. A Philadelphia man was arrested in connection with two burglaries in Montgomery County and an attempted burglary in Chester County, authorities said Wednesday. Jabir Parker, 24, was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony burglary, conspiracy and related offenses, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said. Investigators allege Parker burglarized two homes in Montgomery County and attempted to rob a home in Chester County between the overnight hours of June 22 and July 18. They claim Parker stole nearly $800,000 and a safe in the Philadelphia suburbs.
Parker faces multiple felony charges, including burglary, conspiracy to burglarize, criminal trespass (breaking into a structure) and other related offenses. The forced-entry burglaries happened in the overnight hours between June 22 and July 18, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said Wednesday. Steele did not name Barkley as one of the victims, but police already had confirmed the case in July. A spokesperson for the Eagles could not be reached for comment.
The Attempted Break-In at Saquon Barkley’s Chester County Residence
The investigation centers heavily on an overnight incident at the Malvern home of the Philadelphia Eagles running back. Authorities allege Parker broke into Barkley’s home in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, during the early morning hours of July 18. According to investigators, Barkley and his family were inside the home at the time of the burglary, but no one was injured. In July, Tredyffrin Township police said an attempted burglary occurred at Barkley’s home, with at least one person getting inside. By the time police arrived, the burglars had fled. Barkley and his family were unharmed, police said. Barkley and his family were home at the time and were awoken by suspicious sounds and called the police, a source said. Investigators said they are seeking additional suspects in connection with the incidents. In July, Tredyffrin Township police released an image of a white SUV in connection with the attempted burglary.
A Montgomery County Burglary Spree Yielding Nearly $800,000 in Jewelry
While the Barkley case involved an interrupted attempt, prosecutors stated that Parker is also accused of stealing nearly $1 million worth of jewelry during burglaries at two homes in Montgomery County. Two of the burglaries happened in Lower Merion Township, Steele said. The residents were not at home when they occurred. One of the burglaries happened on June 22 in Bryn Mawr. The investigation found that 12 pieces of jewelry, with an estimated value of $106,700, were stolen. According to the DA’s office, Parker stole 12 pieces of jewelry worth about $106,700 during a break-in of a home in Bryn Mawr on June 22. In the first burglary, investigators found that 12 pieces of jewelry, with an estimated value of $106,700, were taken.
Another burglary happened on July 5 at a home in Wynnewood. Police say 28 items of jewelry worth an estimated $687,292 were stolen, as well as a safe. In the second burglary, 28 items of jewelry worth an estimated $687,292 were stolen. A safe also was taken from the home. The homeowners were not home during either of those two cases.
Cell Phone Data, Rental Vehicles, and Digital Evidence Trails
Detectives used cellphone location data, commonly known as geofencing, to link Parker’s phone to the crime scenes, according to authorities. Parker allegedly used his cell phone to communicate with a getaway driver during the two burglaries and one attempted burglary. During the second burglary, Parker allegedly was captured by a nanny cam talking, presumably on his cell phone, Steele said.
Parker allegedly used his cell phone and his Gmail accounts to Google phrases such as gold presidential rolex,

asking how much a 1.5 carat diamond was worth, and other searches related to the stolen jewelry items, Steele said. Parker allegedly rented a white GMC Yukon Denali from a rental location in Philadelphia on July 16 and returned it on July 18 at 6:43 a.m., less than two hours after the attempted burglary at Barkley’s home.
Bail Status and Upcoming Court Appearances
Parker is being held on $1 million bail. Parker was being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1 million cash bail until his next court appearance, scheduled for Sept. 10.
