Born in Houston, Texas, on July 10, 1993, Carla Jeffery launched her professional acting career at the age of 12 in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz, appearing opposite Mo-Nique. Over a two-decade career, she built an extensive television résumé that spanned guest spots on popular sitcoms and recurring television roles. She was the twin sister of actor Carlon Jeffery, who appeared in Disney Channel’s “A.N.T. Farm.”
Her television credits included multiple appearances on Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, iCarly, Best Friends Whenever, American Vandal, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Uncle Buck. She also played the character Janila on the police drama Southland and appeared in 10 episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm during Season 6 and Season 7 as the character Keysha Black. Fellow Disney Channel alumni and co-stars posted reactions across social media following the announcement. Descendants alum Jadah Marie stated that she was in shock, that Jeffery had such a beautiful soul, that she was so heartbroken, and that she hoped she would rest in peace, accompanied by five broken-heart emojis.
Chandler Kinney, who appeared alongside Jeffery in the Zombies films, stated that she was the brightest shining light in any room she walked into, the kindest person you would ever meet, and the most beautiful soul, adding that it did not feel real.
Co-star Milo Manheim shared a similar sentiment, stating that Carla was the sweetest person he had ever met and that he loved her.
Jeffery is survived by her family and loved ones. A cause of death is not currently known.
