Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen expressed optimism regarding the club’s high-profile addition.
Hayen added that Jamie has a proven track record, noting that the club looks forward to seeing him wear the team’s colors.

Burnley enters the arrangement after suffering relegation from England’s top flight last term. The club has experienced a difficult start in the second tier, remaining winless through five matches under Hayen. On Saturday, the side conceded two goals in the final ten minutes to lose 2-1 at home to Bristol City, leaving them at the bottom of the Championship table.
Vardy brings an extensive resume to Turf Moor. He spent 13 years at Leicester City after transferring from non-league Fleetwood Town in 2012. During his time with the Foxes, he won the Premier League title in 2016 and established himself as the club’s record Premier League scorer with 145 goals. Across all competitions, Vardy netted 200 goals in 500 appearances for Leicester before moving to Cremonese in 2025. He also earned 26 caps for the England national team, scoring seven goals.
