Raw: Sept. 7, 2026: Stephanie Vaquer to challenge Liv Morgan in Women's World Title Match

Liv Morgan retained her Women’s World Championship on WWE Raw following a chaotic title defense against Stephanie Vaquer, securing the victory with assistance from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez after a back-and-forth battle that featured multiple outside interventions.

The championship bout followed a heated build-up that saw Liv Morgan issue confident predictions during the Sunday Night’s Main Event Countdown show. The segment followed “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio’s victory over Joe Hendry, with Morgan stepping in to address the upcoming title bout. With The Judgment Day carrying momentum into the night, the champion made sure Vaquer was her focus. Morgan mocked Vaquer by claiming the challenger isn’t as pretty, talented, or iconic as she is. Addressing the challenger directly, Morgan declared that defeating Vaquer once again would prove she is the greatest Women’s World Champion of all time. The rivalry reignited after Vaquer earned her rematch by defeating Roxanne Perez, returning to the championship picture following a hiatus caused by a legitimate injury sustained after their WrestleMania 42 encounter on April 18. Their issues had already become personal before WrestleMania, with Vaquer criticizing Morgan’s path to success, while Morgan defended her own career and accused Vaquer of trying to diminish what she had accomplished. Their exchanges eventually led to chaotic confrontations, including Morgan insulting Vaquer’s family in Spanish.

A Chaotic Clash for the Women’s World Championship on Raw

The championship match on WWE Raw began immediately with Stephanie Vaquer chasing after Morgan, nearly securing an early roll-up off a hurricanrana. Morgan rallied to take control of the match and hit the Three Amigos to Vaquer. They battled back-and-forth, with Vaquer hitting a series of headbutts and Morgan, a lung blower. Morgan dodged the SVB, but Vaquer hit the Dragon Screw in the corner, followed by the Devil’s Kiss and a meteora, but Morgan still kicked out. Morgan played possum and hung up Vaquer on the ropes, before the challenger drove a knee straight down to her jaw.

As the action escalated outside the ring, Vaquer cleared the commentary desk, and Morgan bounced her face-first off of it before hitting another Devil’s Kiss on top of the table. Back in the ring, Vaquer hit a flying cross body, but Morgan still held on. She hit a powerbomb to Vaquer with Vaquer on the top rope, but the challenger hit the SVB and dodged the Oblivion into a lung blower. Vaquer looked for the Vaquer Inferno from the top rope, which brought out Rodriguez and Perez.

Interference Secures the Finish

The arrival of Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez at ringside disrupted Vaquer’s momentum. Becky Lynch ran out to take out Rodriguez, but on the other side of the ring, Perez handed Morgan the title belt. Lynch ran her off, but Morgan was able to hit Vaquer with the belt, then the Oblivion to retain.

Morgan had previously declared that beating Vaquer again would prove she is the greatest Women’s World Champion of all time.

The successful defense extends Morgan’s current championship reign, which has featured only one televised title defense—a victory over IYO SKY at SummerSlam on August 1. She also retained the title at WWE live events in June. With the chaotic Raw conclusion settling the immediate championship picture, Vaquer’s pursuit of the title remains a central storyline on the brand.
