Enthusiast hardware brands Thermal Grizzly and Noctua have officially released a specialized variant of an inline GPU monitoring accessory, combining power safety hardware with quiet cooling engineering. The WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is priced at an MSRP of EUR 189.90 / USD 189.90.
Thermal Grizzly and Noctua Design Changes for the WireView Pro II
The product builds on Thermal Grizzly’s original monitoring hardware, which sits directly between a graphics card and its power cable to track current distribution. While standard models rely on a smaller 30mm cooling fan, the Noctua variant required significant redesigns to accommodate a larger 40mm fan. Thermal Grizzly modified the printed circuit board, enlarged the housing, and introduced a customized, CNC-milled aluminium heatsink alongside a frameless NF-A4x10n fan and a signature Noctua fan grille.
The device targets owners of modern high-end graphics cards utilizing the 12V-2×6 power connector standard. Industry scrutiny surrounding the connector stems from reports of melting cables and burnt pins under heavy loads. The monitor measures current individually across every 12V conductor rather than calculating total board power through software, allowing it to detect uneven load distribution before localized heating causes physical damage.

When configurable safety thresholds are exceeded, the device issues a visual warning on its integrated TFT-IPS color display and triggers an audible alarm. Using an included splitter cable, the monitor can also initiate an automatic system shutdown. Essential functions operate via plug-and-play on the device itself, while optional PC software and a USB-C port provide extended monitoring and user-installed firmware updates.
Thermal and Acoustic Performance Compared to the Standard Edition
Thermal and acoustic testing detail notable efficiency gains over the standard configuration. In a worst-case benchmark conducted with all case fans disabled and internal temperatures exceeding 40°C, the Noctua Edition kept its fan completely deactivated at GPU loads of up to 300W. By contrast, the standard model initiated its fan after 5 minutes and 40 seconds at a 200W load, and after just 2 minutes and 15 seconds at 300W.
At higher draws of 400W and 480W, the Noctua variant more than doubled the runtime duration before engaging active cooling while keeping the GPU connector roughly 3°C cooler. When the fan does activate, it operates at significantly lower revolutions and decibel levels.

Testing measured the standard version running at approximately 5000 RPM and 39.4 dB(A) from a distance of 10 cm, equating to 19.4 dB(A) at 1 meter.
