A fire broke out at an oil refinery in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, located in Russia’s far eastern Khabarovsk Krai, more than 6,000 kilometers (4,000 miles) from Ukraine, according to the Telegram channel Exilenova Plus. The strike occurred alongside a series of overnight attacks on August 11 that targeted Russian logistics and energy infrastructure across vast distances.
In Voronezh Oblast, a Wildberries logistics hub in Novaya Usman was engulfed in flames following several explosions. Voronezh Oblast Governor Alexander Gusev reported that an air raid alert was activated in the region due to drone threats. Additionally, a power plant in Angarsk, Irkutsk Oblast—roughly 4,300 kilometers from Ukraine—was reported to have caught fire, though the Kyiv Independent noted these details could not be immediately verified.
Wildberries Logistics: A New Strategic Target
The Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries has become a recurring target for Ukrainian long-range drones. Beyond the August 11 strike in Voronezh, Ukrainian forces hit a logistics center in Yekaterinburg on August 7, which the company later confirmed. Regional governor Denis Pasler stated that three drones struck the warehouse roof in the Ural Mountains, over 2,000 kilometers from the border.
Wildberries lists military equipment on its website, including body armor and drone components. Furthermore, the EU sanctioned the company’s banking arm in July due to its financial contributions to the Russian state budget.

This facility processes roughly 15 million metric tons of crude oil annually, producing aviation fuel, diesel, and gasoline.
The scale of these attacks has reached Russia’s largest facilities. On July 6, drones struck the Omsk Oil Refinery in southwestern Siberia, roughly 2,500 kilometers from the front line. Omsk is Russia’s largest refinery by capacity, refining 22 million tonnes of crude per year.
Reuters reported that strikes on refineries since the start of the year had reduced gasoline production to approximately 65% of average summer demand by early July.
Air Defense Gaps and the Moscow Strikes
Ukrainian military assessments suggest that the ability to strike deep into the Russian rear is a result of the systematic destruction of Russian air defense assets. In April alone, more than 250 air defense units were reportedly destroyed, with similar losses of up to 300 systems in February and March.
This degradation allowed drones to reach the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district on June 18. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that several drones reached the facility, which is located only 15 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin.
Crimean Aircraft and Port Infrastructure
Beyond energy and logistics, the SBU reported coordinated strikes on military production. In occupied Crimea, the operation targeted the Yevpatoria Aircraft Plant, specifically hitting a production workshop and two aircraft storage hangars. Simultaneously, drones struck infrastructure at the Port of Taman on the Kerch Strait, resulting in a large fire.
