Romo’s court date is set for September 21 in Wisconsin, though he is not required to attend. Meanwhile, his financial situation remains significant: after a $10 million rookie TV deal, Romo and his agents secured a landmark 10-year, $180 million contract just before the pandemic, leaving four years and $72 million remaining on the agreement.

he said, adding that the decision to place Romo on leave was intended to shift attention toward the games and away from his legal situation.
JJ Watt’s Role and Broadcast Changes
JJ Watt’s promotion to the lead NFL broadcast team marks a significant shift. The former defensive end, who previously worked with Ian Eagle on CBS’s No. 2 crew, will now pair with Nantz for the season’s opening matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Eagle, meanwhile, will team with Ross Tucker on the No. 2 broadcast.
Nantz has previously praised Romo on air, expressing hope that the duo would emulate the legacy of Pat Summerall and John Madden.
