Elvis Opiyo, a driver and gospel singer facing charges for allegedly orchestrating an acid attack on Seventh-day Adventist musician Maryclaire, was found dead in his Umoja, Nairobi home on August 11, 2026. The criminal proceedings will automatically abate under Kenyan law following the death of the accused.
