2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Unveiled

Škoda Auto India unveiled the 2026 Slavia facelift in Mumbai on August 18, 2026, introducing a new eight-speed automatic gearbox, refreshed styling, and rear massage seats to its mid-size sedan lineup, alongside pre-bookings starting at ₹15,000.

Sedans might have yielded the majority of the Indian passenger vehicle market to SUVs, but Škoda is betting firmly that driving dynamics and fresh creature comforts still hold sway. Škoda Auto India unveiled the new Slavia on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Mumbai. Even as market shifts push over 60 percent of buyers toward SUVs, top executives insist a loyal demographic still wants traditional three-box proportions.

Pre-bookings opened on unveiling day with a token amount of ₹15,000, while final price announcements are expected early next month. Deliveries are scheduled to begin around the festive season.

Fresh Exterior Styling and Ten Color Options

The visual updates to the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift lean toward evolution rather than a complete rethink, retaining the sharp character lines and mature silhouette established since the model’s launch in February 2022. Up front, the design includes revised LED headlamps featuring a new LED DRL signature, a textured air dam, and LED fog lamps flanking a redesigned bumper.

At the rear, the car carries over its familiar profile while adding sequential turn indicators to the updated LED tail lamps. Side profiles remain largely identical, save for fresh 16-inch alloy wheel designs across the lineup.

The color palette now expands to ten total choices. Two brand-new shades—Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige—join the lineup, though shipments for the Cappuccino Beige finish are slated to begin later in December 2026.

Cabin Upgrades Bring Comfort Features

Inside, the dual-tone beige-and-black cabin retains its familiar layered architecture and spatial dimensions, but the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift packs significant feature additions designed to close the gap with segment rivals like the Hyundai Verna and Honda City. A prominent addition for rear passengers is a massaging seats function, paired with front ventilated seats and electric adjustment functions on top-tier trims.

Driver ergonomics get a digital overhaul with a larger 10.25-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster running an updated user interface. Higher trims also incorporate a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

New Eight-Speed Torque Converter Transmission for the 1.0-Liter Engine

The most substantial mechanical update sits under the bonnet. While the Slavia continues with its 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, the smaller 1.0-litre TSI motor replaces its old six-speed automatic unit in favor of a new eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Engine Option Power Torque Transmission Choices
1.0-litre TSI Turbo-Petrol 115 PS 178 Nm 6-speed manual, new 8-speed torque converter automatic
1.5-litre TSI Turbo-Petrol 150 PS 250 Nm 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic

The larger 1.5-litre motor remains paired exclusively with the seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic on top trims, while manual gearbox options continue for buyers prioritizing traditional gear selection.

Leadership Perspective on India’s Growth Strategy

Company leadership emphasized that the Indian market remains central to the brand’s global strategy, even amidst heavy consumer preference for utility vehicles. Executive remarks at the unveiling highlighted the enduring relevance of sedans in the automaker’s portfolio.

“India remains one of our most important global growth markets and a great example of what Škoda Auto can achieve when we listen closely to our customers.”

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto

Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto board member for sales and marketing, noted that nearly 80,000 cars sold to date have secured the model a firm foothold in the segment. Alongside the updated Slavia, Škoda also opened pre-bookings for the Octavia RS and invited expressions of interest for the incoming Superb sedan, which is slated for delivery in the second quarter of next year.
