Influencer Dies After Penis Enlargement Injection in Bangkok

British-Nigerian influencer Igho “Tiny” Obiribwo died in Bangkok on March 6 after receiving cosmetic penis enlargement injections. A London coroner ruled that a fatal pulmonary embolism resulted from hyaluronic acid migrating to his lungs during the Thai vacation, highlighting the severe, unregulated risks of the global filler industry.

A luxury lifestyle influencer and businessman died during a vacation in Bangkok after undergoing a cosmetic procedure intended to increase his girth. Igho “Tiny” Obiribwo, 43, also known as “Denisy” or “Ego,” received injections of 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine at an unnamed clinic in Thailand on March 5.

The procedure took a fatal turn less than a day later. According to inquest findings, Obiribwo and his wife, fashion designer and celebrity Danielle Simba Allen, were staying at the Marriott hotel in Bangkok when he began experiencing acute medical distress.

Medical Emergency at a Bangkok Hotel and Hospital Resuscitation Efforts

Following the injection clinic visit, the couple went for a massage. While there, Obiribwo complained of chest pain and lost consciousness twice. Emergency responders transported him by ambulance to Sukumvit Hospital.

Hospital records show he was initially alert enough to answer medical questions. Allen informed the staff about the filler injection, but he lost consciousness before doctors could perform a CT scan. Medical personnel diagnosed a pulmonary embolism—a dangerous blockage in a lung blood vessel—and rushed him into intensive care.

Staff attempted to resuscitate him for more than 100 minutes. Despite these efforts, Obiribwo was pronounced dead in the early hours of March 6, roughly 24 hours after the procedure.

Coroner’s Inquest Findings and Medical Postmortem Discoveries

The circumstances of the sudden death were examined at West London Coroner’s Court. Because the procedure occurred abroad, British authorities repatriated his body for a formal postmortem examination and inquest.

Pathologist John du Parc informed the hearing that cellular material found in Obiribwo’s lungs matched the chemical composition of the hyaluronic acid injected during the procedure in Thailand. London coroner Jean Harkin officially ruled that Obiribwo died as a result of a cosmetic procedure carried out abroad, recording the cause of death as a pulmonary embolism triggered by the filler migration.

Obiribwo’s London family doctor testified that he had previously undergone joint surgery, was prediabetic, and suffered from gout, but was otherwise considered healthy.

Industry Warnings and the Global Risks of Penis Filler Injections

Medical professionals have repeatedly raised alarms about the dangers surrounding cosmetic genital enhancements. Professor Vaibhav Modgil, an NHS andrology specialist and consultant urological surgeon, warned that these procedures carry devastating potential consequences.

Hyaluronic acid treatments for girth enhancement typically cost thousands of shekels and sometimes tens of thousands, and last only six to nine months. Documented complications include severe infection, inflammation, erectile dysfunction, permanent loss of sensation, and physical deformities caused by internal scarring.

Furthermore, reporting indicates that the global penis enlargement industry remains largely unregulated, frequently operating without the strict medical qualification requirements mandated for standard surgical procedures.

Extravagant Lifestyle and High-Profile London Funeral

Obiribwo maintained a visible digital presence, boasting approximately 185,000 Instagram followers while showcasing high-end properties and luxury travel. Financial records reviewed during his affairs noted a Los Angeles home valued at roughly $1.1 million in the Crenshaw neighborhood, along with an apartment worth roughly $600,000 in London. In 2022, he and Allen celebrated a lavish wedding in Zimbabwe reportedly costing $473,000.
