ASUS Republic of Gamers Debuts 720Hz OLED Monitor and WiFi 8 Routers

ASUS Republic of Gamers used the stage at Gamescom 2026 to roll out a massive hardware refresh celebrating two decades of manufacturing gear for competitive players and enthusiasts. Across monitors, networking hardware, mice, and custom graphics cards, the brand’s latest release pushes refresh rates, polling speeds, and wireless bandwidth well beyond previous hardware generations.

ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace Leads a 720Hz Esports Monitor Lineup

The centerpiece of the display is the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, a 24.5-inch esports monitor built with a TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED panel that delivers a 720Hz refresh rate and a 0.02-millisecond response time. Designed for professional tournament settings, the display integrates a Position Sensor capable of measuring screen angles, height, and rotation to help players maintain identical physical setups across different venues. Selected as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major 2026, the panel carries a recommended price of 1.099 dolar AS and is scheduled for release at the start of the fourth quarter.

The brand also introduced two companion displays in the Ace series: the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace featuring a 560Hz RGB QD-OLED panel, and the 360Hz ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace. All three monitors incorporate physical positioning scales, Quick OSD menus, three Esports Color modes, and GaNFET technology to manage thermal output and protect long-term panel durability under heavy competitive use.

Triple-Mode Displays and High-Speed Networking With WiFi 8

Expanding beyond pure esports panels, the ROG Strix XG27UCMG arrives as a 27-inch 4K triple-mode monitor allowing users to switch between 4K at 240Hz, QHD at 400Hz, and Full HD at 488Hz depending on whether a game requires cinematic resolution or ultra-fast motion clarity. A secondary model, the Strix XG27ACNS, offers QHD at 475Hz, Full HD at 620Hz, and HD at 920Hz using a Fast IPS panel with a 0.3-millisecond minimum response time backed by ROG Gaming AI features.

In network infrastructure, ROG announced the ROG Rapture GT-BN98, positioned as the world’s first WiFi 8 gaming router. The quad-band unit pushes throughput up to 25,000Mbps and features two 10G ports alongside four 2.5G ports. Data traffic is managed through AI Game Boost, Adaptive QoE, and ASUS GTNet routing algorithms designed to secure stable connections to game servers. Alongside it, the ZenWiFi BN12 mesh system delivers tri-band speeds up to 19,000Mbps with support for 4G and 5G cellular tethering.

Peripherals, Custom Controllers, and Special Edition Graphics Cards

The peripheral ecosystem received several lightweight and high-polling additions. The ROG Gladius IV Ace mouse weighs 56 grams, utilizes a 65K ROG AimPoint Pro sensor alongside ROG SpeedNova 8K Gen II wireless technology, and offers seven weight-configuration options with optical micro switches rated for up to millions of clicks. For macro-heavy games, the Spatha X 65K brings 12 programmable buttons and tri-mode connectivity. Meanwhile, the ROG Raikiri II Pro PC controller features an 8K polling rate, swappable TMR anti-drift joysticks, and up to 79 hours of battery life.

Keyboard options include the 96 percent Strix Morph 96 X Wireless with hot-swappable ROG NX V2 switches, gasket mounting, and macOS compatibility, alongside the TUF Gaming K4 Magnetic keyboard featuring adjustable 0.1mm to 3.3mm actuation points and an 8,000Hz polling rate. Audio is handled by the ROG Gjallar soundbar and wireless subwoofer combination, which includes Acoustic Echo Cancellation.

Hardware customization rounds out the showcase through a hardware partnership with esports organization T1 and Capcom. ASUS displayed the ASUS T1 GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards, alongside the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT Onimusha Edition, featuring shroud and backplate styling directly inspired by the Oni Gauntlet from the Onimusha franchise.
