A new UCLA Health study published in The Lancet Healthy Longevity reveals that older adults who undergo cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia experience a significantly slower pace of biological aging and higher remission rates compared to those receiving standard sleep health education.

Despite these promising insights, the UCLA Health research team notes important limitations in their trial design. All participants were recruited from a single healthcare site located in Los Angeles, California. Investigators acknowledge that larger, multisite trials featuring more diverse cohorts across different races, ethnicities, and age brackets will be required to confirm whether these epigenetic benefits apply broadly.
