Frisby and Postobón have launched the Copa Frisby 2026 soccer tournament in the Eje Cafetero. The initiative brings together 400 adolescents across eight municipalities to build socioemotional skills and values following the August 10 earthquake in western Colombia.

Two major Colombian companies have joined forces to direct a social and athletic initiative toward hundreds of young people in a key region of the country. According to Redmas, Frisby, the country’s largest fried chicken restaurant chain, and Postobón, the beverage company of Ardila Lülle, have officially kicked off the Copa Frisby 2026 tournament.

Copa Frisby 2026 Reaches Eight Eje Cafetero Municipalities

The tournament is designed to promote socioemotional skills and core values among teenagers aged 12 to 14. Reporting by Redmas indicates that the athletic event spans eight municipalities across the Eje Cafetero region: Pereira, Dosquebradas, La Virginia, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Armenia, Calarcá, Manizales, and Villamaría.

The competition involves 400 adolescents, 40 teams, and 80 coaches. Beyond athletic performance, the scoring and evaluation prioritize player behavior on the field. Organizers aim to help participants manage their emotions and return to daily routines after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia on August 10.

Liliana Restrepo Arenas said that 400 young people between the ages of 12 and 14 have had the opportunity to renew faith and hope, adding that we believe what will stay with them is that together we can build different realities.

Corporate Backing and Social Investment from Frisby and Postobón

According to Redmas, Carolina Posada Molina, manager of Fundación Frisby and Desarrollo Sostenible Frisby, stated that the organization chose football for development because it is a proven method established in 1994 to build life skills and values.

Additional partners have also joined the program, including Puntos Colombia. Juan Martín Lara, a representative for the loyalty platform, expressed appreciation for the invitation from Frisby and Fundación Frisby to participate alongside Postobón. Meanwhile, Juan Fernando Cardona, representing the Ardila Lülle beverage company, emphasized that Postobón invests in sports training to foster physical health as well as the social and psychological growth of participants.

Redmas notes that Postobón maintains substantial private social investment in Colombia, allocating tens of billions of pesos annually to community support and sustainability programs aimed at balancing social, economic, and environmental dimensions.
