Fighting game Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina will launch for multiple platforms on April 22, 2027, featuring an upgraded battle system, new characters like White Len, and a story mode written by Kinoko Nasu, according to publisher announcements.
The latest installment in the best-selling Melty Blood series from TYPE-MOON, set in the world of Tsukihime, is officially on the calendar. Publisher Aniplex and developer French-Bread announced that Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina will launch on April 22, 2027, bringing the moonlit mania into its next stage.
Fans will have an opportunity to try the game ahead of its release. The title is scheduled to be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which will run from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
Platforms, Localization, and the Path From 2002
The title serves as an updated version of Melty Blood: Type Lumina, which was originally released back in 2021. Looking further back, the franchise originated on PC in 2002. It has been about 24 years since then, and the series arrives on a broad array of platforms:

Localization efforts will span multiple languages, supporting English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options. However, it should be noted that voice acting will exclusively be in Japanese.
As expected of any fighting game, players will be able to compete against one another locally, and Twi-Lumina also features online play.
Roster Additions, White Len, and New Mechanics
Under the hood, the upcoming release introduces changes designed to alter the experience for competitors. The developers have confirmed that Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina will have gameplay that features an upgraded battle system. These changes should hopefully shake up the meta compared to what players are used to with Melty Blood: Type Lumina, alongside new 2D character battle animations.
Additionally, developers mentioned that the game will have multiple new characters added to the roster. White Len, the first of the new characters being added to Twi-Lumina, is featured prominently in the gameplay trailer, showcasing the new visual style of White Len as illustrated by character designer Takashi Takeuchi. Alongside White Len, a new trailer features battle scenes with established playable characters such as Len, Shiki Tohno, Arcueid, and Ciel. By paying close attention, fans might also be able to take notice of universal or specific character adjustments.
A New Story Mode by Kinoko Nasu
Beyond competitive matches, the cast of Melty Blood: Type Lumina enjoys an upgrade, plus a main story and new characters such as Len have been added. Kinoko Nasu has woven a new tale centered around Shiki Tohno. Players navigate Souya City as they progress through battles against various characters in the main story.
