Levy, 40, was convicted by a jury on Friday, 7 August, of two counts of murder, two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and the non-fatal smothering of a surviving victim.
Serial Sex Offender Simon Levy Faces Sentencing at the Old Bailey
The convictions follow a string of sexually motivated attacks carried out across London. According to court details, Levy murdered 53-year-old grandmother Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in March 2025, finding her in a largely abandoned block of flats on the Aylesbury estate in south-east London. In August 2025, he murdered 39-year-old mother-of-four Sheryl Wilkins, suffocating her behind a car park wall near Tottenham High Road in north London.
A Timeline of Brutal Attacks and Missed Opportunities
The murders followed a brutal assault in January 2025, when Levy subjected a third woman to a sustained attack in the same Tottenham car park where Ms Wilkins was later found. The survivor, who suffered a broken collarbone, told an Old Bailey jury that Levy strangled her during the assault, stating, Shut up. Be quiet. I have got you.
The surviving victim reported the rape to police and told officers she knew where her attacker lived, but she was not formally interviewed until after Levy had already killed twice. Furthermore, British Transport Police had arrested Levy in November 2024 for sexual assaults on the London Underground, but delays in organizing an identification parade until the following April left him free to carry out the subsequent rape and first murder.
Speaking outside the Old Bailey, Detective Chief Inspector Neil John from Scotland Yard stated: Simon Levy is a dangerous and predatory offender. His crimes were calculated, cruel and deeply disturbing.
DCI John added: Throughout the trial, he has shown complete disregard for the victims and victim-survivor, despite being fully aware of the lasting and devastating impact of his actions.
Extensive History of Sexual Offending
Levy’s prolific offending spanned from 2018 to 2025. He was previously jailed in 2021 for groping two women in the summer of 2018—one at the Notning Hill Carnival and another at a party in Camden. During his imprisonment from 2021 to 2023, he sexually assaulted a female prison officer at HMP Brixton.
In a separate trial earlier this year at Inner London Crown Court, Levy was convicted of 11 counts of sexual assault—technically recorded as indecent assault—for groping 10 women on the Tube and an 11th while in prison. Those Tube assaults took place between October 2023 and May 2025. During those transit attacks, Levy used a distinct tactic of tying a jumper or hoodie around his waist and strapping his arm down, backing toward victims with his hand covered while claiming his balance was affected by losing sight in one eye during a May 2024 attack.
For the transit and prison guard assaults, Judge Michael Evans sentenced Levy during a hearing in June to an extended sentence consisting of a six-year jail term plus a three-year period on licence, telling him: You were on the Tube for one purpose only, to sexually assault women.
