Trey Parker and Matt Stone returned for the 29th season of South Park on Comedy Central on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, dropping their central focus on Donald Trump for a local storyline while renaming the fictional Colorado town “South America” as a satirical nod to map changes by Apple and Google.
A New Name and a Naked Cameo in the Premiere
The animated series debuted a revised title sequence featuring an animated caricature of Donald Trump, completely nude and wiping himself with the American flag. The opening sequence also reflects that the show’s name has been changed to South America, a reference to Trump’s move to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America due to a trade war with Canada. The lyrics in the theme song now say “South America” instead of “South Park,” and the town sign was also updated.
Inside the episode itself, titled South American Biker Gangs,
the town’s name change is treated as a permanent reality. Signage and buildings throughout the municipality reflect the new moniker, and characters reference it casually without offering an explanation for when or how the shift occurred. The six-season premiere opens with the renaming already a fait accompli, not even commented on.

Shifting Away From the White House Arc
Seasons 27 and 28 relied heavily on a serialized format centering on the White House, featuring storylines that involved Trump getting Satan pregnant alongside cabinet officials, hangers-on and vice-president-turned-lover J.D. Vance. Starting with the Season 27 premiere last summer, the series made Trump a major character and effectively reoriented the entire show around him. The Season 29 premiere pivots away from that continuous political satire to return to a more stand-alone format.
The underlying joke of the renamed town serves as a broader critique of corporations falling in line with presidential orders, mirroring the way companies like Apple and Google went along with Trump’s Lake America change by altering their maps. The lone character in the episode who registers shock at the rebrand is a news reporter, who remarks that the people of the town “rolled over” and accepted it without pushback.
E-Bikes, Adult Gangs, and Local Satire
The primary plot of the premiere focuses on the desire of every kid in South America for a class-three e-bike that can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. Eric Cartman agitates for one most connivingly, tearfully insisting to his mother, Liane Cartman, that he needs a bike to get in shape to avoid bullying over his weight. Instead, he winds up with a motorised bike that’s the envy of Stan, Kyle and Kenny as he does doughnuts on their lawns.
Soon the jealous boys, unable to afford their own top-of-the-line bikes, are visiting Mr Kim to buy cheaper, faster knockoff e-bikes at several for a steal. This proliferation of noisier and less effortful e-bikes sends Stan’s bicycle-riding dad, Randy Marsh, into full Calvin’s Dad mode, recalling the occasional cycling-centric strips from Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes. Randy recruits more grown-ups to his cause, complaining about gangs of bandana-wearing, wheelie-popping, and drug-doing bikers while forming an actual biker gang.
Accordingly, the cyclists amass members, block traffic, demand protein packets and eventually escalate further. After Googling how to change laws in South America, they attempt to ban e-bikes by bribing the cops with cash and cigars. When that doesn’t work, they escalate to full-on violence, leaving the townsfolk to lament the chaos.
Throughout the episode, there is also a running joke about the upcoming midterm elections, with characters remarking that the country has gone south and that hopefully things will be better in November because that’s when Grand Theft Auto VI
comes out.
