Tottenham Target Savinho and Omar Marmoush in Double Deal with Man City

Tottenham are in active talks with Manchester City regarding a potential double transfer for forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush. While negotiations progress without a final agreement, Spurs are targeting up to three new attacking reinforcements ahead of the transfer deadline following a heavy summer spending splurge.

Tottenham Target Manchester City Forwards in Double Deal Talks

Tottenham are negotiating with Manchester City over a potential double transfer for forwards Savinho and Omar Marmoush, according to BBC Sport reporting. Negotiations between the clubs are currently progressing, though a formal agreement has not yet been reached.

Spurs’ pursuit of the Brazilian winger Savinho dates back to 2025, when the 22-year-old chose to stay at the Etihad Stadium. Having been limited to just seven starts in the Premier League last season after joining for a £30m fee in 2024 from French club Troyes, he is now minded to leave the club. Meanwhile, Marmoush arrived as a £59m signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025 but subsequently fell out of favor under Pep Guardiola during the 2025-26 campaign, managing eight goals across 36 appearances in all competitions.

While Manchester City’s exact valuation for the pair remains unclear, the club expects to make a significant profit on both players. City have already moved to sell several other squad members during the summer transfer window, including Rodri, midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, and second-choice goalkeeper James Trafford.

Ambition for Three New Forwards Amid Heavy Summer Spending

Tottenham hope to secure as many as three new attacking players before the transfer window closes.

Spurs are waiting for Liverpool to complete deals for Bradley Barcola and potentially Paris Saint-Germain teammate Ibrahim Mbaye before launching a formal bid for Gakpo. Should that move fail, the club is prepared to pursue alternative targets, including Chelsea’s Pedro Neto. Speculation had connected Gakpo to a potential role at No 9 under head coach Roberto De Zerbi, but while that will be considered if he joins, finding a dedicated centre-forward remains the primary objective.

In theory, successful completion of these prospective deals could push Tottenham’s total summer incoming business to nine first-team signings. The club has already committed more than £200m on six first-team arrivals, including a combined £185m spent on midfielders Sandro Tonali from Newcastle and Mateus Fernandes from West Ham. Tonali cost a share of the £185m total. Jan Paul van Hecke also arrived from Brighton for £52m to replace Cristian Romero, while Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Martin Dubravka joined on free transfers.

Addressing the Attack Following a 17th-Placed Premier League Finish

The offensive recruitment drive comes in direct response to Tottenham’s offensive struggles last term. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has already heavily revamped his midfield but stressed the urgent need to strengthen the attack following the team’s 17th-placed finish in the Premier League, during which they scored just 48 goals across 38 matches.

Financing the ambitious triple forward acquisition remains a question mark, particularly regarding whether funds stretch far enough to cover Cody Gakpo alongside the Manchester City pair. With Tottenham opening their Premier League campaign away at Brentford and Manchester City hosting Bournemouth, both clubs must navigate remaining squad decisions as the transfer deadline approaches.
