Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated that he was convinced the expansion of cross-border transport infrastructure would provide a powerful impetus for the further development of trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation.
Mishustin characterized the ties between Moscow and Pyongyang as being at an unprecedented high level, describing the bridge as a new symbol of friendship and a genuinely historic event. According to the Russian government, cargo trucks will use the bridge immediately, while passenger traffic is scheduled to begin later in the year once full operational procedures are established.
