Charlie Sheen and his father, Martin Sheen, will star together in a new comedy from AMC called Happy Jack. The father-son duo are set to star as father and son in the comedy series at AMC and AMC+, with the network announcing the project on Tuesday, September 29. AMC Global Media announced the series, and it is a production of AMC Studios. Happy Jack will premiere on AMC and stream on AMC+ in 2027.
Production Details for Happy Jack at Warner Bros. Studios
The half-hour comedy has been greenlit for a six-episode first season and will begin production in Los Angeles in early 2027. The multi-camera comedy will be shot in front of a live studio audience at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, in the same studio where the beloved ’90s sitcom Friends was filmed. AMC Global Media will be showcasing the series for international buyers at MIPCOM in October.
The series marks an interesting move for AMC, which has not really been in the comedy business and certainly not the half-hour space. The broadcaster has aired series such as Kevin Can F*ck Himself and Lucky Hank, but they have been more in the dramedy space.
Charlie Sheen Returns to Television in Happy Jack
Happy Jack will serve as Charlie Sheen’s long-awaited comeback on the small screen. The actor hasn’t had a leading role on television since Anger Management wrapped up its 100-episode run in 2014. Charlie Sheen is of course best known for playing Charlie Harper in the first eight seasons of the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men.
Shocked at first, Jack soon realizes he’s got a choice to make regarding whether he will keep looking out for number one or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters’ lives.

Jim Patterson and Matt Ross serve as writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners. They worked together on Two and a Half Men and The Ranch. Charlie Sheen is an executive producer in addition to starring.
