Millions of affiliates across Chile can now check online whether they have unclaimed credit balances awaiting them in their Caja de Compensación ahead of the national Fiestas Patrias celebrations, according to data from the Superintendencia de Seguridad Social.
A digital search platform launched by Cajas de Chile A.G. lets workers, pensioners, and companies verify surplus funds instantly. Official figures show that a total of $1.371.026.621 sits ready for collection across the country’s four compensation funds: Caja 18, La Araucana, Caja Los Andes, and Los Héroes.
Where the Unclaimed Funds Come From
Cajas de Chile A.G. —a trade association that brings together the four Compensation Funds (Los Héroes, Los Andes, La Araucana, and 18 de Septiembre)— officially launched the 2026 Check Your Credit Balances
campaign, so that the more than 7.4 million affiliates in the country can check online if they have money available for withdrawal.
A few days before the start of the Fiestas Patrias celebrations, they indicated that there is more than $1.3 billion that can be collected.
The surplus money typically builds up while a social credit is active. Credit balances are primarily generated during the term of a social credit, either due to employer errors when calculating payroll deductions, duplicate payment of installments, or other operational adjustments derived, for example, from renegotiation processes.
These leftover amounts remain legally tied to the individual workers or corporate contributors who paid them. This is money that belongs to the affiliates and is available to be withdrawn at all times.
According to Superintendencia de Seguridad Social records updated to July 2026, as of July 2026 there is $1.371.026.621 available for this concept in the Compensation Funds, belonging to 23,126 people or companies (-2.1% compared to the same month in 2025).
Of the total, 21,491 correspond to workers or pensioners and 1,630 to companies.
How to Check Your RUT on the Cajas de Chile Portal
To spare users from having to visit each compensation fund’s website individually, Cajas de Chile consolidated the information on the website www.cajasdechile.cl. There, affiliates will find the Check Credit Balances
banner.
The search requires only a national identification number.
Upon entering their Rut, in a few seconds the system will inform them if there is a credit balance available and in which Compensation Fund it is located. Cajas de Chile A.G.
The process is free and does not require a unique password for the initial verification, making it accessible for any affiliate seeking extra funds for the upcoming holiday budget.
Security Protocols and Permanent Availability
Because personal data protection is a priority, Cajas de Chile explained that to safeguard and protect personal data, the search tool emulates other credit systems in the country and does not detail the exact available amount, but it provides a direct link to initiate the refund process with the corresponding Compensation Fund, either by requesting a bank transfer or opting for in-person channels.
Association leaders emphasize that these reserves never expire. Subsequently, they noted that credit balances do not expire, are not allocated to other purposes, and are always available to be withdrawn.

The resources are there, they belong to the affiliates, and therefore, nothing can be done with them. These funds remain at the disposal of the affiliates, stated Marcelo Forni, president of Cajas de Chile AG.
Furthermore, these credit balances are heritable. Additionally, they are inheritable, so anyone can enter the search engine and check if a deceased relative has available credit balances.
