Luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has announced five new references for its Carrera Sport Chronograph line, introducing a significantly more compact stainless-steel case that addresses criticisms of the outgoing 2020 generation’s substantial proportions, according to Time+Tide Watches. TAG Heuer Revives the Carrera Sport Chronograph with a Smaller Case
The most notable update to the new collection is its downsized architecture. The previous model’s 44mm diameter has been trimmed down to 42mm, while the thickness decreases from 15.48mm to 14.17mm, and the lug-to-lug measurement shrinks from 49.8mm to 48.6mm, as reported by Time+Tide Watches. These adjustments aim to provide a more manageable fit across a wider variety of wrist sizes while maintaining the muscular stance of a high-performance racing chronograph.
Redesigned Dials and Reworked Ceramics
The updated timepieces feature a distinct aesthetic that departs from the popular “Glassbox” design prevalent in recent years, opting instead for a classic race watch identity. The dial replaces traditional baton-style applied hour markers with a large 60-second track and Arabic numerals for double-digit minute indications, enhancing track-timing legibility, according to Gearpatrol and Monochrome Watches.
The collection offers four distinct dial colors across its five references:
- Black Opalin: Features black counters, red lacquered chronograph details, and contrasting red chronograph markings that recall dashboard instrumentation.

- Blue: Features a sunray-brushed blue finish with silver azuré counters and a matching blue ceramic bezel.
- Silver: Features a panda configuration with contrasting black counters and a black ceramic bezel.

Automatic Movement and Practical Features
