A midday drone strike hit a shopping center in the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv on August 27, leaving at least one person dead and multiple injured.
The strike in Kharkiv occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m., according to local reporting of the incident. The projectile directly impacted a commercial center in the city’s Osnovianskyi district, triggering emergency evacuations as municipal and medical services mobilized under heightened operational readiness.

Regional authorities confirmed shifting casualty figures throughout the afternoon as emergency crews searched the impacted commercial property. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, initially reported that a 40-year-old man had died in the blast. Subsequent updates from municipal leadership tracked a rising toll among civilians.

Cross-Border Drone Attacks in the Belgorod Region
Regional authorities across the border reported a series of drone strikes on August 10, resulting in a separate fatality and multiple injuries. According to the regional operational headquarters, an FPV drone targeted a truck at an enterprise in Shebekino, killing a man instantly.
The resulting fire engulfed the targeted truck and a neighboring vehicle before local emergency responders extinguished the flames.
