An Israeli drone strike killed a 15-year-old boy and a civil defense paramedic in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood on Tuesday, as near-daily violence persists despite an October 2025 ceasefire agreement according to regional reporting.
Drone Strikes Target First Responders in Gaza City
The Tuesday afternoon attack utilized a contested tactic known as a double-tap strike, where a location is bombed initially and struck again after bystanders and rescuers gather to render assistance. The initial drone missile wounded Palestinian Civil Defence paramedic Sharif Shadi Labad as he lay on the ground in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. Footage verified by news organizations showed a group of residents running to help the injured paramedic before a second drone targeted the exact spot.
The subsequent explosion killed 15-year-old schoolboy Mohammad Abdul Zinati, who was returning home from a Quran memorization class, alongside Labad. Eyewitness accounts and video documentation captured the teen rushing forward to assist the wounded man before the second munition impacted. The weapon is believed by monitors to have been an Israeli-developed guided glide bomb.
The boy’s father gathered outside al-Shifa Hospital, where his son’s body was brought wrapped in a white shroud, and recited verses from the Quran.

Daily Toll Mounts Under Fragile Truce
These incidents unfold against the backdrop of a stalled U.S.-backed ceasefire originally brokered in October last year. An October 2025 U.S.-backed ceasefire halted major fighting in the shattered territory, but it failed to end strikes by the Israeli military, which it said aimed to thwart attacks by Hamas and other Gaza militants.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 1,381 Palestinians have been killed and 4,757 injured by Israeli fire since the ceasefire began in October 2025. The UN considers the figures generally reliable, but they do not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
A pregnant Palestinian woman died on Saturday from injuries sustained after being shot in the head by Israeli forces south of Khan Younis, according to her family and medical workers, as strikes across Gaza killed at least 10 people in 48 hours. The woman, named as Iman Shalouf, 27, who was nearly eight months pregnant, was sitting inside her family’s tent in the al-Mawasi area when Israeli gunfire struck her, according to paramedics and witnesses.
‘‘We heard the sound of gunfire while I was praying,’’ Wathfa abu Mashi, Shalouf’s mother-in-law, said in a video interview with Anadolu. My daughter asked me, ‘Where is Iman?’ I told her she was in her tent. She went to check on her and found her covered in blood after she was hit by a bullet.
Shalouf’s husband, Ismail abu Mashi, said Where is the ceasefire they keep talking about? There is no such thing. There is killing every day. People are dying here every day.
Two Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Sunday killed at least two people, including a four-year-old boy, and wounded seven others, Palestinian health officials said, as Israel warned it would intensify strikes after what it said were launches of balloons, drones and kites from Gaza toward Israel. One of the strikes hit a building in Zawayda town in the centre of the enclave and followed a warning by the Israeli army for the owners of the property to leave the area, residents said.
Medics said flying debris and shrapnel that spread for dozens of metres around had wounded at least six people, including the four-year-old, Mohammad Abdel-Salam Taha, who was later pronounced dead at hospital.
There is no ceasefire, there is nothing,
said Abu Ahmed, a displaced Palestinian who was sheltering close to the building, which the airstrike reduced to a pile of mangled steel and concrete. We want solutions, we want to live in peace,
he said.
The second airstrike took place in the nearby Nuseirat refugee camp, the health officials said. Israel’s military said it was looking into both strikes. Israel’s military said it carried out four strikes targeting militants. Health officials also reported strikes in Zawaida in central Gaza and Khan Younis in the south.
