Capcom used its Tokyo Game Show showcase to outline major updates for its active game lineup, confirming console release dates, expansion details, and character rollout schedules across hardware platforms. The updates span several major franchises, highlighted by a late-year Nintendo hardware launch and a wave of new downloadable content arriving through early 2027.
Street Fighter 6 Character Schedule and C. Viper Swimsuit Reveal
The publisher shared a fresh look at the second character joining the Year 4 pass for Street Fighter 6. Arjun is scheduled to enter the roster on October 13, 2026, with a Fighters Pass available now. Like an aggressive bull jumping in the dust of the fields, Arjun moves heaven and earth with his powerful breathing techniques on October 13. Following Arjun’s release, Tifa from Final Fantasy VII will join the fighter roster in early 2027, with Bosch following this release in Spring 2027.
To tie in with the new Street Fighter movie, Capcom is running a collab where players will receive special challenger screen images. Viper—marking her fourth outfit—will drop alongside the release of Arjun on October 13, 2026.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Expansion and Switch 2 Launch
Monster Hunter fans received an extended cut of the new expansion titled Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, which includes the return of the elder Dragon Teostra. As shown in the new trailer, this expansion will see existing characters return with new looks, while also showing off the locations and other monsters hunters can expect to encounter.
The expansion will include new and evolved actions as well, including the boost bracer, a new attachment temporarily enhancing certain actions and fourteen weapons. Several refinements are also being implemented to improve the overall experience, including faster weapon swaps, changing equipment outside of a tent, bulk changes utilising new hunter loadouts, and a detailed display of monster hide toughness.
Continuing on from the story set up in Monster Hunter Wilds, Ascendance expands on the world and gameplay with new areas and monsters, new hunter actions, and the introduction of Master Rank quests in 2027. Meanwhile, the base game (including all previous updates) launches on Nintendo’s new hardware later this year on December 4, 2026, and this expansion will also be coming to the Switch 2 release in 2027.
Dragon’s Dogma II Dark Arisen and Sci-Fi Releases
Capcom also set a definitive release date for Dragon’s Dogma II Dark Arisen, rolling out its main trailer on October 9, 2026. Adventure forth to the long-abandoned region of Norgan and join forces with the enigmatic Eir, who seeks to unravel the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon, unearthing and appraising forgotten relics to unlock powerful new weapons and skills that will aid you on your journey.
Sci-fi action-adventure game Pragmata received a free Mega Man skin trailer on September 17. Pragmata is a unique sci-fi action-adventure game from Capcom where players follow Hugh, a member of an ill-fated investigation team, and Diana, a young android, as they navigate a lunar facility taken over by rogue AI in search of a way to Earth. Capcom is also hosting a sale across all platforms to celebrate TGS 2026 and its latest Spotlight, with up to 88% off select titles, while Pragmata is having a first time sale
as well.
Mega Man: Dual Override Gameplay Deep Dive for Spring 2027
The showcase concluded with a look at Mega Man: Dual Override, which received a gameplay deep dive pointing toward a Spring 2027 release. Mega Man returns in 2027 with a brand-new entry in the classic action platforming series, challenging players to override and blast down legions of robots while springboarding across a new array of futuristic frontiers.
