Salesforce Jumps 2.4% as Slack Builds Dashboards Inside Chats

Salesforce shares climbed 2.4 percent to $248.77 as the company updated Slack to let users build interactive reports, dashboards, and presentations directly inside team chats using AI. The new feature, called Slackforce Surfaces, aims to keep teams inside the platform while driving adoption of Salesforce’s expanding AI tools.

Enterprise software giant Salesforce pushed Slack further into the artificial intelligence race by converting Slackbot into an interactive content builder.

Slackforce Surfaces Brings Dynamic Dashboards Directly to Workspace Channels

The newly announced tool, designated as Slackforce Surfaces, converts workplace conversations and connected data streams into dynamic dashboards, polls, reports, presentations, and microsites without requiring users to leave the messaging interface. Teams can edit, share, or pin those generated creations directly inside channels while keeping existing access permissions intact.

Operating the system relies on natural language prompts directed at the assistant. Users can simply describe what output they need, and the AI gathers information from relevant conversations and connected applications, such as Google Drive or Salesforce.

In one specific demonstration provided by Slack, a user requested an arcade-themed visualization tracking AI token usage. The AI assistant generated an interactive dashboard outlining token consumption across distinct corporate divisions, including sales, design, and engineering, according to reporting from The Verge.

Ecosystem Revenue Growth and Valuation Context

The product launch provides Salesforce with an additional mechanism to funnel everyday Slack users toward its broader AI ecosystem. Agentforce and Data 360 annual recurring revenue recently approached $3.9 billion, representing roughly 8.4% of the company’s $46.25 billion annual revenue-guidance midpoint. Meanwhile, valuation metrics indicate that Salesforce’s $248.77 share price sits 27% below its $340.76 GF Value estimate, providing notable financial background to the platform expansion.

Beyond internal finance metrics, practical applications for Surfaces range widely across enterprise needs. Teams can construct live dashboards to monitor customer support queues or build weather-themed financial forecasts pulling data from integrated third-party applications. Privacy controls remain tied to existing configurations, with Slack emphasizing that the feature only accesses information for which users have granted explicit permission to its AI tools.
