Arc System Works has set release dates for Zohar, the newest downloadable character for UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes. The speed-focused fighter arrives on PlayStation and Steam on September 16, 2026, followed by a Nintendo Switch launch on September 24, 2026.
Players of the fighting game series will soon get their hands on a fighter who first appeared nine years ago in the title’s story mode. Zohar makes her playable debut this month, bridging a gap since her silhouette was revealed roughly five months ago and her character trailer dropped two months prior.
Platform Release Schedule and Pricing Details
The rollout for the additional content is split across two dates depending on the player’s platform of choice. Sony and PC users gain access first, while Nintendo players wait an extra week.
- PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam: Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. JST.
- Nintendo Switch: Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. JST.
The character carries a price tag of 660 yen (tax included). Unlike other DLC characters, Zohar is not included in the Season Pass and must be purchased separately to use her.
Combat Style and Doppelgänger Mechanics
Described as a fast-paced close-range fighter, Zohar relies on coordinated maneuvers with her doppelgänger to confuse her opponents. The character’s ability name is Mirror Image EXS “Doppelgänger.” She overwhelms rivals through seamlessly coordinated attacks alongside her Doppelganger, commanding giant spikes and executing instantaneous cross-up techniques to excel at mix-ups, cross-up traps, and breaking through the enemy’s guard.
That mobility allows her to execute a variety of pincer attacks and guard breaks. Her trailer demonstrates an ability to move behind her opponent instantly, prioritizing speed above all else.
Character Background in the Night of Emptiness
Zohar’s lore ties back to her time alongside Ogre and Strix, where they formed the Assembly of Ten Thousand Demons.
During the battle against the Spiral of Oblivion,
she was engulfed by the manifest power overflowing from the “Abyss,” lost her senses, and inflicted a severe wound on her best friend, Strix.
Plunged into utter despair after striking down her most beloved friend, she heard a rumor that Strix is still alive.
She changed her name, traveled to “The Night,” and is searching for “me.”
“I have to find her,” “I have to apologize,” “I have to kill her”……Various thoughts collide. Are these Zohar’s own feelings, or those of her “other self”?
