Geetu Mohandas and Toxic Production Details

Superstar Yash, who previously captivated audiences with the KGF series, has returned to the big screen with the period gangster drama Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. Marking his first project with Mohandas, Yash also serves as a co-producer on the film. The movie features a prominent cast including Kiara Advani, Akshaye Oberoi, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Nayanthara, with Yash playing a double role.

Sacnilk Box Office Opening Figures

Released across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam languages, Toxic opened to mixed reviews alongside a massive box office debut. According to a report published in Sacnilk, the film grossed Rs 101.1cr across India on its opening day. The Hindi market led the box office figures with Rs 55cr, followed by Rs 23.3cr in the Kannada market, Rs 16cr in Telugu, Rs 5.5cr in Tamil, and Rs 1.3cr in Malayalam.

Track Tollywood Hindi Market Presales

Despite its formidable start, the Hindi version of Toxic experienced a noticeable cooling off in presales on its second day of release. Track Tollywood reported that the advance booking collection for the second day in the Hindi market stood at around Rs 15.03cr, following a first-day advance booking collection of Rs 29.02cr. This shift represents a 48.21% dip in advance booking presales for the Hindi version.

Speaking about the film’s distinct tone and character dynamics, co-star Kiara Advani shared insights regarding the project’s unique approach to relationships.

Kiara Advani, actor, stated that Toxic completely changes the way one sees the man-woman dynamic, adding that even for her, when Geetu Mohandas narrated the script, it took a while to understand that such a dynamic can also be normal, and while it may be grey and unconventional, there is a certain liberation in love.
