Country artist Ella Langley has spent much of 2026 at the pinnacle of American music charts. Her breakout track Choosin’ Texas secured its twenty-second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, matching the historic chart dominance previously achieved by All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. Industry watchers note that Langley could soon surpass Carey’s milestone unless the holiday classic reclaims attention later in the year.

The 27-year-old Ella Langley was raised Southern Baptist in rural Alabama, where she grew up singing hymns around the piano at family reunions, and she was already six years into her Nashville career when she put out “Choosin’ Texas” last October as the lead single from her second album, Dandelion. Langley wrote and produced “Choosin’ Texas” alongside a crack team including Miranda Lambert. The song’s ascent commenced in earnest when Lane Gorrell, an Oklahoman farm-fluencer of sorts, posted a TikTok dancing to it in front of some cows.

Album Success and Multi-Chart Dominance for Dandelion

The sustained commercial power of the lead single has propelled Langley’s sophomore full-length album, Dandelion, back to the summit of the Billboard 200. Last frame, the full-length sat in third place, and during this especially quiet period, it is able to rule once more. Luminate reports that during the most recent tracking frame, Dandelion shifted 67,500 equivalent units, of which 9,000 were actual sales.

This resurgence places Dandelion alongside other major 2026 chart successes. The collection has now racked up a total of three weeks atop the Billboard 200, tying Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide and Arirang, the comeback project by K-pop boy band BTS, both of which have also controlled the rundown three times in 2026 as the second-longest-running No. 1s of the year. All three land just behind Drake’s Iceman, which holds the current record for the most time spent at the Billboard 200 summit this calendar year after racking up four turns in the spotlight.

International Chart Performance on the ARIA Charts

The single’s international appeal remains equally robust. Nothing is budging Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” (via Sony Music) from the top of the leaderboard on the ARIA Singles Chart, as the country hit collects a 14th non-consecutive week at No. 1. While it holds a commanding lead in Australia, it will need to reach deep should it close in on some of the all-time champions, such as Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey,” which is king of the jungle with 24 non-consecutive weeks atop the ARIA Singles Chart.

Back in the United States, Dandelion can be found on five rosters published by Billboard, and it climbs on three of them.
