Take-Two Interactive has seen its market value drop by nearly six billion dollars over a one-month period, driven down by early gameplay leaks, investor jitters, and lingering launch-date rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI despite recent promotional rollouts.

Gameplay Leaks and Investor Regret
The downward slide kicked off in late August when a hacker or attacker group operating under the name Cyberleek leaked gameplay footage showing an unfinished version of the game. Analysts linked that initial leak directly to a sharp share price drop that wiped roughly three billion dollars off Take-Two’s capitalization in just a few days as the price slid to between $232 and $233 per share. Investors who bought in earlier have increasingly voiced regret as the decline persisted past the official showcase events.
Multiplayer Rumors and Launch Date Speculation
While the initial drop stemmed from unauthorized video leaks, market watchers attribute the subsequent weeks of decline to a combination of persistent industry rumors. Speculation has circulated regarding a possible delay to the anticipated new GTA Online multiplayer mode, even though the developers have not yet issued official statements regarding online functionality. Additional rumors point toward a potential postponement of Grand Theft Auto VI itself into December or beyond. Although market analysts place the statistical probability of a schedule delay at only 9%, nervous market participants are treating the launch timing risk with serious caution.
Platform Rollout Plans and Console Targeting
Grand Theft Auto VI remains officially scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. The launch targets PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, while developers have not yet announced any version for PC players.
