Dragami Games, Nada Holdings, and JP Universe have officially announced Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back
for a planned 2027 release on PlayStation 5. The sequel unites key industry talent, including Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, and is playable in a demo at the Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 Debut and PlayStation 5 Release
The event runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Publishers Dragami Games and Nada Holdings, alongside developer JP Universe, lined up a major presence for the newly revealed sequel, including an on-site demo, exclusive merchandise, and a scheduled stage show for September 19.
Visitors who try out the demo receive an original keychain while supplies last, alongside a logo sticker. Official Lollipop Chainsaw ambassador and cosplayer PeachMilky also appears at the venue in character as protagonist Juliet Starling. The exhibition features a dedicated stage presentation running from 9:40 to 10:30 a.m. JST.
Creative Leadership and the Return to San Romero
The project brings together notable creative personnel from across the industry. The staff includes Hajime Tabata, who directed Final Fantasy XV, alongside original scenario writer and co-producer Masahiro Yuki and main character concept artist NekoshowguN.
The narrative shifts protagonist Juliet Starling back into action within a radically altered setting. The rebuilt San Romero is now transformed into Jaredwood,
a sprawling metropolis modeled around the film industry. A mysterious director traps Juliet inside a twisted cinematic production, forcing her to fight alongside allies, expose a deeper conspiracy, and handle a brand-new threat originating from Corrupted Realm zombies.
Digital Storefront Promotions for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP
To mark the sequel announcement, publishers rolled out widespread promotional discounts for the series’ previous entry. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is currently on sale for up to 45 percent off across select digital marketplaces. The sales window varies by platform: Microsoft’s Xbox Series and Xbox One discounts run through October 15, while digital sales on Steam remain active until September 30. Additional promotional pricing across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and GOG storefronts is scheduled to roll out in subsequent phases.
Nintendo Switch owners of the previous title can acquire an upgrade pack for $9.99 to move their experience to the newer Nintendo Switch 2 hardware platform.
