The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards are set to air live from Los Angeles on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET, broadcasting on CBS, simulcasting on MTV, and streaming on Paramount+ Premium, according to USA Today. The ceremony is hosted by Snoop Dogg, a three-time VMAs winner marking his first time hosting the event, as reported by ABC News.
Madonna and Taylor Swift Lead Nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards
Madonna leads this year’s field with 11 nominations, including artist of the year, song of the year for Bring Your Love,
and video of the year for Confessions II – The Film.
Taylor Swift follows with nine nominations, including artist of the year, video of the year for The Fate of Ophelia,
and best pop. Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter each earned seven nominations, while Bruno Mars, PinkPantheress, and Zara Larsson secured five nods apiece.

Madonna is scheduled to open the 2026 ceremony, marking her first live performance at the VMAs in 23 years. This will be her fifth time opening the show, setting a new VMAs record after previously tying with Rihanna at four openings each.
